             GRANDCHILDREN "
The matriarch dedicated her life not only to the welfare, success, development and growth of her own children, but also to that of her own grandchildren.

In her words, " Before they were  even born, I have already made the decision that they would be beneficiaries of part of my legacies ".

So, she wove a very close-knit with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with thread of love and care, so much so that she preferred them to oversee her burial when she kicks the bucket.

But this preference of hers came not without resentment from her daughter, Lady Eberechukwu Azuaru  of all persons who felt slighted by her choice.

In one of our telephone conversations, she painfully and sorrowfully complained, " Mama slapped me in the face"

"Auntie how do you mean?"

She replied,  "Mama said her grandchildren would bury her when she dies".

Mama had a very cordial relationship with her grandchildren was my response to her.

Her reply, " Who are her grandchildren?"

My response, " So you don't know she has grandchildren?"

Her answer, " Are my children included as her grandchildren?"

Auntie, "All I know is that she has grandchildren, if you are not aware of this fact,  it is not my funeral".

I continued,  "Mama was so resentful of you and chief because of your malicious behavior toward her, now  that she was no more, she and her son would not need the fund  anymore. When she needed it, you withheld it".

She replied, "Uzodimma, the position you assumed in mama's life has made her not do my biddings without first seeking your approval".

My response,  " I did not assume any position in her life, it is a natural phenomena. I have a cordial relationship with her".

Her response," If I do not tell you these, who will?"  "A ga m aso gi anya?"

Auntie,  " This hegemonic cult in this family must be dismantled".


When it was also revealed that it were her  grandchildren that she had told her burial place, it did not go down well with Chief Orisa.

But nature will always have its course, come what may.


The place and role of grandchildren in the lives of their grandparents can never be overemphasized.We are the heartbeat of every family .

"CONFLICT RESOLUTION"

FRACTURED FAMILY As the family got bogged down by the quagmire that has the potential and the capacity to continue to shred it apart to smithereens for generations to come, friends, well-wishers, fiends and the quarreling parties alike turned blind eye to  this malady. Their negligence became a tinder igniting the smoldering smoke of discord  into a consuming flame of strife , hostility and disunity among siblings. What was more, their unwillingness, hubris,  accusations and recriminations to navigate out of this mire festered and seemed intractable. Every form of social intercourse among siblings ground to a halt, with hurtful and malicious undercurrents. Separate existence became a preference,which sacrificed communal existence on the altar of cloistered living with an eerie dash. The centerpiece of this saga was the matriarch. "TEARFUL PROTEST FROM SHEOL"

FRACTURED FAMILY   The teardrops from the great beyond flooded the matriarch's compound and the nightingale lamented ceaselessly for closure. Threatening to metamorphose into an ocean if not pacified. "My wishes and instructions prior to my journey of no return were disregarded by my very loved ones. What a heinous betrayal with a tragic implication?"  "The chasm between us though very wide, but God watches over our actions and reserves for the villain his deserts." "Exhume and gather my remains, transport them to my chosen place of burial and  there commit them to mother earth. This is the only placation to get my soul to repose in perfect peace.  My soul is still hovering and wandering desultorily.
