"LIFE AND DEATH"
FRACTURED FAMILY "LIFE AND DEATH"
Life and death are the ultimate dramas of our existence. The world is their stage and locale. Human beings are the characters, with varying roles, cameos, and extras. God and fate are the master directors, scripting the narrative of our lives and authoring the screenplays of life and death.
Life's casting and shooting begin with birth, nurturing, and other socialization processes. The baby passes through various developmental stages, transitioning from a sub-human phase to a human phase, full of dreams, ambitions, and aspirations that follow or haunt it throughout its life's struggles, sometimes truncated by challenges or unforeseen circumstances.
Death, the inevitable grand finale, is intrinsically associated with life. From inception, death has closely followed and observed life's voyage, waiting patiently in the wings, ready to deliver its final curtain call or coup de grâce. As life begins with parturition, so it culminates in death. We can neither predict life's next screenplay nor death's final act, but hopelessly and powerlessly act out the script written for us. Our dreams, aspirations, and ambitions are either accomplished, fulfilled, or truncated along the line.
In this grand drama, we take our cues, deliver our lines, and exit life's theater to death's stage when the spotlight fades. Whether we take center stage or not, we're all characters in the epic story of life and death, bound to play out our parts.
It is well
